KNEE EXOSKELETON FOR EXTERIOR SUPPORT TO OSTEOARTHRITIS PATIENTS

JANUARY-ONGOING 2016| ZINE LAB | MNIT JAIPUR

OBJECTIVE

Osteoarthritis refers to the medical condition where deterioration of the knee joint and the lubrication synovial fluid causes extreme pain and often leads to partial or complete walking disorders. The objective is to design an exoskeleton capable of not only supporting the human knee movements but also helping the rehabilitation of the same.

METHODOLOGY

The complex knee structure was thoroughly studied to understand the structure and the underlying reasons for osteoarthritis. The decay and erosion of the corners of the femur and tibia bones have been recognised as the actual reason for the disease. The further work of designing the exoskeleton is in progress
