High-dimensional (multiple features) datasets may often be missing data points for certain features at different instances. The idea to populate the missing data points for the features, using methods like hot deck, cold deck, mean and mode substitution. Imputation ensures the ML method does not have an inherent bias or skewed representation of the feature-set.
